Why I Started Hippiekit Green Products
In My 50s, I Feel 35. Here’s Why! 🌿
Back in 2009, I watched a heartbreaking undercover video exposing the cruel realities of factory farming. That was my wake-up call. I cut out meat by 95%, embraced whole foods, got moving with regular exercise, and ditched canned and boxed foods for fresh alternatives. FOOD IS FUEL! 🌱
Then in 2023, I started scanning my food with an ingredient app and realized how many pesticides and heavy metals were hiding on my produce. That’s when everything changed. I started soaking all of my produce before eating it, and if something I buy comes in plastic, like a salsa with great ingredients, I move it into glass as soon as I get home. My cleaning cabinet is down to the basics too: vinegar and water, alcohol and water, soap and water, and baking soda. Nothing mainstream, nothing toxic.
The combination has made a huge difference for me. I have no issues with my knees anymore, I don’t feel the spondylosis in my back, I’m back in heels, and I have more energy after long workdays. Everyone’s body is different, but I truly believe what we put on and in ourselves matters.

Our Mission
The animals come first. The chemicals and plastics in our everyday products don’t just disappear. They end up in the water animals drink, the oceans sea life calls home, and the air every living thing breathes. Wildlife is being poisoned by what we wash down our drains and throw away, and they can’t speak up for themselves. So we will.
People are tired of being poisoned too. Most of what fills store shelves is made with chemical- and petroleum-based ingredients and packaged in plastic, and the biggest brands spend big money to land on page one of every search. Meanwhile, the beautiful small brands making clean, plant- and mineral-based products are buried on page 40, where hardly anyone finds them.
That’s where Hippiekit comes in. We educate, we don’t greenwash. We break down the ingredients in everyday products so you can make informed choices for your health, the planet, and the animals. Then we give you direct links to the brands that actually meet the standard, so you’re never handed a score and left to figure out the rest.

Hippiekit started on the water, where 15 years in the yachting industry showed me firsthand how much pollution our everyday products create. But this was never just about boats. It’s about every home, every body, every animal, and every ocean.
